Senior Lecturer, MCAST
Burton has been teaching finance related subjects at MCAST for the past two decades. He has prepared thousands of students for the AAT diploma and other training courses for accounting staff working in the business and industrial sector in Malta.
Burton studied Accountancy and Finance at the University of Malta where he graduated as a Bachelor of Commerce in 1999 and a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) in 2001.
Following his three-year work experience at Valletta Fund Management Ltd in fund accounting and administration, he pursued his studies in the area of Financial Services at the University of Malta where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Financial Services in 2004.
Mr Baldacchino’s main research interests are Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), company valuations and Management Accounting Control Systems. His main contribution in these areas is a dissertation entitled ‘Initial Public Offerings’ Valuations and the Local Equity Market’ which he submitted as part fulfilment for the Master of Arts in Financial Services.
In 2001 he joined the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) where to date he has been primarily responsible for the preparation of students for the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) diploma and other training courses for accounting staff working in the business and industrial sector in Malta.
Mr Baldacchino has a passion for teaching which is reflected in the way he strives to pass on knowledge, skills and competences to learners, while at the same time actively encouraging learners to develop their own skills in assimilating, applying and further exploring the acquired knowledge.
